The Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia and the Academy of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia organized the 12th Annual Republican Conference “Advocacy: Current State and Prospects for its Development in the Republic of Armenia” which was entitled “Independence of the Advocate”. One of the sponsors of the conference was the law firm “LEGAL ALLIANCE”.

On 14 July, the oral, concluding stage of the conference took place. the participants of the conference were the students of law departments of the RA universities and colleges as well as the students of the Academy of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia.

“The conference has a 12-year history. The main task is to promote the love and interest of the law students towards the advocacy institute․” Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the founder of the conference, the President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the law firm “LEGAL ALLIANCE”, said in his welcoming speech.

Mr. Simon Babayan, the Chairman of the RA Chamber of Advocates, advised the participants of the conference to be brave when preparing reports, to present the problems and their solutions, which will contain certain proposals, which are not rhetorical, but grounded and objective.

“It is noteworthy that the theme of this year’s conference is interesting for the Advocacy Institute. As for the content of the reports, they contain such approaches that can be fixed at the legislative level. We have thought of everything to open our doors for good specialists,” The Chairman of the RA Chamber of Advocates Mr.Simon Babayan said.

“A very important topic has been chosen. Often, scientific structures or other state institutes give similar theses to young people. Young people very often offer good ideas during research and study, which play a key role in the development of the state. In this regard, you are not an exception and we will try to find in your reports the new things you offer,” Mr. Ara Zohrabyan, Rector of the Academy of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia said, addressing the participants of the conference.

According to the results of summing up the assessments, Zhanna Hayrapetyan became the leader of the written and oral rounds of the conference and the winner of the conference. She received a number of awards from the organizers, including a 25% tuition discount from the Academy of Advocates of the RA, a two-month internship opportunity at “LEGAL ALLIANCE” Law Firm, and a collection of books from the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.

Other participants of the oral and written stages of the conference were also awarded certificates of participation in the conference and received books from the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
